In recognition of the critical significance of sports in one’s life, Sapphire International School hosted a week long   Inter School Sports Meet – RENDEZVOUS 2022, commencing from the 15th of October 2022. More than 528 participants from nineteen different schools in Ranchi took part.   

The Opening Ceremony was graced by the co-chairperson Ms. Mohita Sahu and Master Aryavardhan Sahu.   

The Guests of honour were eminent sports persons from Jharkhand who have represented and brought home laurels for India in the Common Wealth Games –2022.  Ms. Rupa Rani Tirkey, DSO Ramgarh, Lovely Choubey of Jharkhand Police, Sunil Bahadur and Dinesh Kumar.  

 The program started with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by an eye catching dance  performance by Aparijata and Group, which set the tone and made everyone’s spiritsoar high.  

 The Co-chairperson hoisted the school flag and the Meet was formally declared open by Ms. Rupa Rani Tirkey.    

 “When we function as a group, the spirit of achieving goals through collaboration, is developed only through games.  Sports not only make us physically fit but also mentally agile and strong-   

 Ms. Rupa Rani Tirkey, made   these pertinent observations, while addressing the participants.  

 The Sportsperson's Oath was administered by the Sports Captain, Felix Minz followed by the National Anthem.  

 The proceedings were gracefully compered by Sanskriti and Tuhin.  

 In his address, Principal Amit Singh said that- “A Game is always about winning and losing, but there is also a salutory  lesson hidden, through which we can rectify our mistakes and evolve into better versions of ourselves."  

 An exclusive Lawn Ball ground was also inaugurated on this occasion.  

 The week long sporting extravaganza, established SIS as a major hub for sports in Ranchi, Jharkhand.  

 It infused a love for sports and sporting spirit among students of the host school as well as the participants from other schools.  

 The entire week long event was executed flawlessly, thanks to the excellent management by Sports Department and support of the Management. The various competitions were held in a spirit of fair play and strict adherence to rules, officiated by officials and coaches of National Level.
