“Being Indian is our identity, however; being Republican is our country’s identity”.
We celebrate Republic Day to commemorate the day the Indian constitution came into force. It was on January 26, 1950. This date is a landmark in Indian History. It took months of toil and diligence for the great leaders, thinkers, educationists and the well-wishers to draft the Indian Constitution.
Keeping the tradition alive, Sapphire International School conducted a special Online Assembly on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day of India.
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by our respected Principal, Mr Amit Singh followed by the national anthem.
Pranay of Grade 9 shared an inspiring and motivating thought for the day.
The students of Happy Feet all dressed as freedom fighters, quoted some famous slogans to salute the heroes of our nation.
Adamya of Grade 2 recited a heart warming poem followed by a dance performance from the students of Pre-primary and Primary school.
Ayaan of Grade 2 presented a mesmerizing patriotic song.
Manaswi and Pranay of Grade 9 came up with a few important facts of the Indian Constitution. This was followed by a stimulating poem and an exhilarating speech by Megha Rani and Siddhant of Grade 9, respectively.
Shaina of Grade 12 took the audience through a virtual tour of the National War Memorial and the art department presented a colourful display.
The students of Grade 6 to 12 presented a captivating dance medley followed by an interesting and challenging quiz conducted by Ms Ila and Mr Rakesh.
A vote of thanks was proposed by the school captain, Ishita of Grade 12.
The entire programme was seamlessly anchored by Shazma of Grade 9.
The programme concluded with the address by the Principal who congratulated all the students for their wonderful performance. He noted that their determination and dedication towards staging this event testified to their determination and dedication towards their family, their school and their nation.
