The State Pollution Control Board conducted a student workshop on the Theme “Pollution Control and Energy Conservation” on 17th December 2022 at Plash Meeting Hall, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM for students of Grade 7 to 9. The event was organized by Ms. Munmun from ANM communication.
The aim of organizing this workshop was to create awareness about pollution and conservation of the natural resources. It hones the public speaking skills of the students and teaches them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, and perspectives that enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the importance of conserving energy and pollution control among students.
To begin with, each participant spoke their mind on the rationale for, the execution of, and the potential future effects of pollution control. Unsurprisingly, this led to a wide spectrum of contrasting views – from being heralded as an inevitable future, to being poorly perceived positivity and doubtful future due to a severe lack of dedication and allegiance towards environmental protection.
Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps. Some of the points even made us think about the facts. There was so much talent in the room. Arguments were made and proved. The competition was so interesting with innovative students’ perspectives.
The event was judged by Mr. Subrata De, Mr. Dhirendra Kumar, Mr. Phillip Matthew, Mr. Prem Prakash Arya, and Mrs. Vibha Singh.
There were 12 students from Sapphire International School who participated in this event with great enthusiasm. The winners of this competition were:
Gauri Singh, Grade 9, Extempore, 1st Position
Rajesh Singh Munda, Grade 7, English Essay writing, 2nd Position
Quiz Team, 3rd Position
