Dear Students
Sweet are the uses of adversity…
-William Shakespeare.
Truly,Adversity leads to innovation; innovation leads to adaptability which is the key to
Evolution. Since the advent of Human species nature has thrown us in troubled waters and we
the human species have evolved thanks to our thinking Brain. I see covid-19 as an opportunity
for learning something new. Learning to respect each component of nature.
We have learned to make do with minimum resources; we have learned to make better use of
technology. Technology was never part of education pre covid. But now technology towers as
the lifeguard for the education sector.
I request all the stakeholders to upgrade themselves on the technology front. We at Sapphire
International School, have integrated technology into our system and will continue to strengthen
the bonds in the days to come. Our online learning is the report card of the progress that we have
made in past one year of Covid.
I wish to thank Parents, students and teachers for rising to the occasion, getting their acts
together in these tough times and making learning a fruitful endeavor.
World Health Day

Sapphire International School used its online platform to celebrate the – World Health Day on 7th April 2021. The special assembly started with an English and Hindi prayer by the students.
The significance of World Health Day was explained through a PowerPoint presentation that highlighted the following points –
The Harvest Festival – Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti
On the 14th of April 2021, Sapphire International School celebrated
“The Harvest Festival – Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti through an online
special assembly. The celebration began with thanking the almighty for
his divine grace. The students highlighted the contribution and
achievements of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar through a Power Point presentation.
The program was carried forward by a cultural show depicting the
significance of Baisakhi and how it is celebrated in different states
of India. Students from the Primary school performed Bhangra - the famous
dance form of Punjab. The beats of the dhol brought vibrancy to the
environment. The Principal - Mr. Amit Singh motivated the students to be
caring and lead a sincere and truthful life. He further added, the motive
behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of their culture and
heritage. The programme concluded with great zest and fervour.
Special Assembly on Ram Navami

Sapphire International School conducted a special Assembly on the 19th
of April 2021,to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The
programme commenced with ‘Ram Stuti' which was devoutly sung by Rudransh
Sinha of Grade 6. A poem was recited by Naitik Kumar of Grade 4 –
comparing a devotee's bhakti towards Rama with patriotism. Neyum and
Archit of Grade 10 beautifully narrated the ‘ Vratha Katha'- the story
of Ram Navami. Vishwaraj of Grade 8 highlighted the teachings from the
life of Bhagwaan Rama. The entire programme was delightfully compered by
Shazma of Grade 9.
The Principal Mr. Amit Singh said – “ Lord Rama stands as an epitome of
Truth, and following in the footsteps of Rama will make us a true human
being.” He also advised the students to serve their parents, be obedient
and , face the challenges of life and overcome them like Lord Rama did.
The assembly concluded with an interactive session where the students
shared their takeaways from the programme.
Special Assembly on Earth Day
The Sapphire Family paid tributes to Mother Earth, organising a special
Assembly on 22nd April 2021.
The proceedings commenced with a Welcome Note by Harsh Jha, Grade 10.This
was followed by a Prayer to Mother Nature acknowledging her bounty. Rishi,
Grade 8 lent his vocals to a song with a relevant message, United we stand.
Aparajita, Grade 6 enunciated the thought for the day. A hard hitting
theme of environment conservation was provided by a play by Aditya and
Tuhin. Aashi Grade 8 presented a touching monologue, Sorry Future Generations.
Mr Ajay Jha, Dept of English outlined the eco friendly practices he has
incorporated in his daily routine and urged students to emulate. A video
on sustainable practices on the Sapphire premises was played. Proof that
the Sapphire students care and share the concern of keeping Mother Earth in
good shape. In his address, the Principal Mr Amit Singh commended the students
for such a well coordinated assembly. He also said that each one of us
have to pitch in to preserve our Common Mother.

Hindi Poem Recitation

"Poetry is a form of expression. Writing it lets us get out our feelings and
thoughts on a subject while reading it encourages us to connect and find
meaning in our experiences". Poetry can have a positive impact on the social
and emotional learning of children. It may offer them a new way of thinking
about something.
Students from primary and middle section enthusiastically participated in the
online Hindi poem recitation competition. Ms. Mannu Kapoor, Ms. Bina Jain and
Mr. Gopal Pathak were the judges for the event. The Principal was also
present during the program. He addressed the students and illuminated them
with his wise words.
Special Assembly on International Labour Day
Sapphire International School conducted a special online assembly to
observe International Labour Day to honour the struggles and gains made
by workers and labourers.
The proceedings commenced with welcome note by Suraj Singh of class 5.
This was followed by a prayer by Kashis Sen. Highlighting the importance
of gratitude ,thought for the day was shared by Sarvasyam Lodha. Pritha
Kumari narrated the story of Bopdev and enlightened the audience with the
importance of hard work and consistency.
The hardship faced by the labourers during the pandemic was delineated by
the students of Class 5 with the help of a video.
School Captain, Ishita threw light on the importance of labourers in our
day to day life.
The programme concluded with the wise words of Mr. Amit Singh ,who
encouraged the students to be thankful towards the workers around us
and help them whenever and however they can

Primary Academic Activity: Subject- English
The students of Grade 2 to 5 enjoyed their English lessons with a dash of creativity and fun through Art Integrated Learning. The students made stick puppets, travel brochures, colourful graphic organizers, and tried their hands at leaf printing, origami craft and online quiz. These fun activities helped to enhance the students’ knowledge, creativity and communication skills.


Primary Academic Activity: Subject- EVS
In the EVS class students enthusiastically participated in various activities like designing newspaper bags, card making using fruit seeds , making bird-feeders, terrarium and experiment on solution and mixtures. These activities brought out the innovative facet of each kid and helped them to understand the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.


Primary Academic Activity: Subject- Mathematics
Students of Grade 3 to 5 were involved in fun filled activities such as making different figures using 2D shapes, building a model using 3D shapes and playing online mathematics quiz - BUNNY TRACK to build and reinforce the concepts of Addition and Subtraction.



Primary Academic Activity: Subject- Hindi
HINDI - Grade 2 to 5 students imbibed Art Integrated Learning in their
Hindi lessons which led to a great learning experience for all. They were
engaged in – making a family photo frame, illustrations of different types
of houses and making a road map from their house to the school. All these
apart, they also took part in a storytelling activity which stimulated
susceptible young minds and set their imagination on fire.
These workouts not only made them think out of the box, but also lent an
interdisciplinary approach to the teaching learning process, as per the
latest pedagogic practices.

National Endangered Species Day
Every year on the third Friday in May, millions of people, around the
world, participate in Endangered Species Day by celebrating, learning
about, and taking action to protect threatened and endangered species.
Sapphire International School, as always took up the initiative and
observed National Endangered Species Day as well as International Day
for Biological Diversity on 21st May 2021.
The students of grade 7 collaborated and presented the importance of
celebrating the significant day.
The programme started with an introduction by Richa. Shreyansh elucidated
the meaning of terms like, 'endangered', 'poaching'.
Mantra lent his voice to a beautiful prayer and then demystified the
heinous crime that poaching is, with the help of a heart wrenching video.
Shreyansh shared the thought for the day signifying that, the value of
the life of humans and animals is same. We all are equal for our Mother
Nature.
With the help of slides, Rishi showed us the Magical Biodiversity of
India.
Atharva recited a thought provoking poem, "last Breath".
With the help of an amazing video, Happy exhibited the bountiful
Biodiversity of Sapphire International School and concluded the
programme.
Buddha Purnima
Gautam Buddha, the enlightened one,was a philosopher, mendicant, meditator,
spiritual teacher, and religious leader who taught the world, that
humanity is above all, above everything.
Sapphire International School celebrated Buddha Purnima in advance ,on
May 24th, 2021.The students of Grade 8 put on a spectacular show. Aarush,
Aashi and Taushiba presented a poignantly breathtaking skit on the life
of Buddha.
The programme began with a beautiful prayer by Sanskriti Pal. Kshitiz
presented the thought for the day and gave the message that Kindness is
the answer to life's woes.
Mr. Ajay Chauhan showered praise on the students for their performance
and encouraged them to follow the path of truth, honesty and compassion.


World No Tobacco Day
World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on
31st May. This yearly celebration is intended to raise public awareness
on the dangers of using tobacco.
Sapphire International School organised a special online assembly to
observe World No Tobacco Day, on 31st May to educate the students,
parents, guardians and other stakeholders about the serious health risks
associated with using tobacco, in any form.
The special assembly started with a Hindi Prayer by Aditya Gaurav ,
followed by English Prayer by Sanskriti Pal.The students prayed for the
good health and happiness of everyone.
Shazmah Shakil delivered rousing speech, drawing attention to the need
and significance of observing the World No Tobacco Day and spotlighting
the ill effects of using tobacco.
Siddhant Bose presented the data analysis of the last five years of
deaths and losses due to tobacco consumption.
Aditya Gaurav recited a monologue emphasizing the loss and complications,
faced by a tobbaco addict.
Harsh Jha acted as a facilitator and concluded the programme with a
pledge of never consuming tobacco and motivating others not to use
tobacco in any form, whatsoever.


Spell Bee and Pronunciation Activity
Language plays an important role in the all round development of a student.
Appropriate words with correct spelling conveys the right message.
“Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the
connection that is shared between sounds and letters.”
Spell Bee Activities are conducted to give students a platform to learn
spellings in different ways, enrich their vocabulary, learn concepts and
develop the use of correct English. To encourage students to have a good
grip over spelling and pronunciation, Sapphire International School
conducted an Online Spell Bee and Pronunciation Activity for the students
of Grade 6 to 10 from 24th of May 2021 to 28th of May 2021.
The activity was conducted in two rounds. Students were supposed to spell
correctly in the first round followed by correct pronunciation in the
second round.
